Free Yoga, Zumba, and more!

When: Every Saturday June 9 – September 1 (excluding 8/18)
Time: 8 am: Yoga
          9 am: Zumba 
          10 am: Fit Camp/Boot Camp/Barre/Cardio
Where: The Gridiron, 122 S. Michigan St. 

DTSB has partnered with local fitness organizations to provide a free outdoor summer fitness program at the Gridiron in downtown South Bend every Saturday morning to encourage healthy living. These free drop-in classes, beginning at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., and 10 a.m., include a mix of yoga, Zumba, cardio dance, Jazzercise, Piloxing, and more.

All classes are held on the Gridiron in Downtown South Bend, weather permitting. In the event of rain, classes will be held on the 5th floor of the Leighton Parking Garage.

Classes are led by professional instructors from local health and fitness centers, as well as independent instructors. 

Participants should dress in appropriate clothing and footwear, bring adequate fluids and will be required to sign a waiver prior to the start of each class. Free parking is available on the street and in the garage at Leighton Center. A limited number of yoga mats will be available for a $1 class rental fee (cash only; exact change only).

Additional Fitness Opportunities in Downtown South Bend

Beacon Health & Fitness is a medically-based, full-service fitness facility located in the heart of downtown South Bend. Their group exercise program includes a wide array of classes such as, yoga, grit, water in motion, pilates and much more.  

Body Evolution Fitness & Nutrition LLC offers private personal training, group clinics, nutritional counseling as well as onsite and off site corporate fitness.

Dancehipology wants you to move it, shake it, and create movement through music. They offer an assortment of private groups sessions, private lessons, and the ability to teach almost any type of dance to you, your group, or at an event.

Doc Walks - Lace up your walking shoes and join Beacon doctors for Doc Walks on Thursdays (through August 30th) at 5:30 p.m. Doc Walk is for patients, families, physicians or anyone who wants to get out and enjoy the outdoors each week. Walks are FREE and last about an hour, weather permitting. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Please note the starting location has changed from last year - to E. Blair Warner Family Medicine, 714 N. Michigan Street.

Kroc Center offers group fitness classes that are designed to promote a fun workout experience with professional instructors and energetic classmates. They have over 15,000 square feet of state-of-the-art weight training equipment and cardiovascular machines.  A sample of the Kroc Center’s group fitness programs include: Zumba, Indoor Cycling, 12-12-12 (Strength & Conditioning), Power kick, Yoga and Bosu.  

Therapeutic Indulgence is downtown South Bend's premiere wellness center specializing in massage therapy, yoga, reflexology, skincare, waxing, and medical hypnosis.  Our mission is to empower our clients with tools to help them achieve their wellness goals both at our spa and in their everyday lives.  We believe that by helping our clients achieve wellness, we help our community, because a community that is healthy, is a community that thrives.

Yoga on the Green - The Yoga Association of Michiana is partnering with The History Museum to provide free/donation-based community classes taught by certified instructors with the aim of making yoga accessible to all. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Classes take place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Oliver Gardens at The History Museum June, July, and August.
