April First Fridays: For the Love of the Game

South Bend has no shortage of sports enthusiasts, from fans of the Cubs to the Fighting Irish, so we want to invite all the fans of all the games out for this First Fridays, where the theme will be "For the Love of the Game."

Wear your favorite team's apparel and celebrate your love of the game on April 7. The South Bend Cubs will be offering special behind-the-scenes tours again this month, several businesses will be offering discounts on sports themed items. The Pigeon & The Pottery will be offering specials on their sports-themed pottery, Idle Hours Bookshop will have 20% off baseball books, and Barnaby's and The General will be offering discounts to customers wearing their team's apparel.

Not into sports? We will also be celebrating other types of games. Purple Porch Co-op will be having a Board Game Soiree, and Chicory Cafe will have several board games available for free play as well. There will also be a fun game taking place called "South Bend FrieNDzy" - a social media scavenger hunt planned by students from Notre Dame.

Transpo will be offering FREE shuttle rides on one of their new CNG buses from 5:00 to 9:00 pm., and just last month they launched  their new shuttle route, which includes the South Bend Museum of Art! Click here for a map of the brand new shuttle route. Transpo shuttle service will pass each stop approximately every 15 minutes.

The shuttle service now has First Fridays Tour Guides! They will tell you all about the different activities and promotions that are taking place downtown at First Fridays, as well give general info about the downtown businesses, mixed with historical tidbits and fun facts. Grab a seat on the new First Fridays Transpo Tour, and enjoy the informative ride!
