Art Beat 2016
Saturday August 20, 2016 | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. | Michigan St. in downtown South Bend
A group of like-minded individuals came together in 2003 with a common idea — to showcase the work of local visual, performing, and culinary artists in the heart of South Bend. Art Beat was born and has over the past several years become a downtown South Bend signature art and cultural event drawing over 10,000 visitors annually.
Engage your sense in this day-long showcase of over 200 visual, performing and culinary artists from the Michiana area. Stroll the streets of downtown South Bend during this free, family-friendly event to:
See the hand crafted work of local potters, photographers, painters, weavers, jewelers, sketchers, woodcarvers, crocheters, and filmmakers
Hear the sound of acoustical melodies, African drumming, Zumba beats, soulful Jazz, the power of rock and more
Taste the flavors of the Galeic region, the fresh local produce, and the intricate creations of top chefs
Touch the artistic instruments to create your own masterpiece in one of the many community art projects
We are looking for volunteers to assist during the event. Volunteers are needed for activities such as:
Info booth workers
Community Arts Project assistants
Setup and Teardown volunteers
