Events and Operations Coordinator

Kylie Carter is the Events Coordinator for Downtown South Bend, Inc. (DTSB). She started with DTSB as the events intern in the summer of 2014. Later that fall, she accepted the role of the Program Coordinator for South Bend 150 – South Bend’s yearlong celebration of its 150th birthday. After the big SB150 Birthday Bash, in late May 2015, she transitioned into the Events Coordinator position for DTSB. In this role, she plans, promotes, and executes over a hundred signature events annually, and also provides event support for countless other organizations looking to hold their events downtown.

Kylie enjoys living and working in downtown South Bend, and promoting all that South Bend has to offer. She brings a great deal of enthusiasm to her work, and is excited to be a part of the renaissance that is currently taking place in downtown. Her favorite part of being the DTSB Events Coordinator is having the opportunity to plan events that create fond memories for eventgoers and forge positive associations with this vibrant and growing downtown.

Kylie is originally from the small nearby town of Etna Green (population 500), and growing up she always enjoyed visiting the big city of South Bend. She obtained her BA in Art and English from the University of Notre Dame and went on to acquire her Master’s Degree in Journalism from Napier University in Scotland. She spent nearly a decade in the field of journalism before transitioning to event planning, and brings that skillset of communication, marketing, and promotions with her to her current role.
