Incorporated in January 2002, Downtown South Bend, Inc. (DTSB) is a not-for-profit 501C(3) organization dedicated to the continued growth and prosperity of downtown South Bend in partnership with the City of South Bend. DTSB continually works to improve our community’s quality of life through creative marketing and promotion, coordinated public/private initiatives, effective economic development and business recruitment.
DTSB, Inc. is governed by a 30 member board including downtown business owners, downtown residents, local business leaders, the University of Notre Dame and City officials. Officers of the board include Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Our offices are located at 217 S. Michigan Street, in the heart of downtown South Bend. We are in the Robertson’s Building across from the historic State Theater.
The team that keeps us going!
Jill joins Downtown South Bend with over ten years of leadership and event management experience in the hospitality industry. She brings experience in developing and implementing strategies for achievement through cultivating relevant and meaningful relationships, effective financial/budgeting performance, sales & marketing initiatives, brand and advertising campaigns, project management, customer service and employee relations.
Before this, Jill held various leadership positions managing the day to day operations of convention centers in Florida, New York and Indiana.
Jill holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University.
Director of Business Engagement
A Texas native with family ties to South Bend, Leslie moved here in 2013 to get her MBA at the University of Notre Dame. During the 2-year program, Leslie fell in love with the small-town charm and big city opportunities unique to South Bend and chose to stay after graduating.
In her role with DTSB, Leslie can combine her passion for non-profits with her education and corporate experience to help downtown businesses grow. She is a connector, collaborator, storyteller, small business champion and a self-proclaimed “cheerleader for South Bend”.
Leslie has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Marketing & Development Manager
Lauren was raised in the Michiana area and finished her Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana University South Bend in 2015. Upon moving to South Bend, she grew passionate about the city and was excited for the opportunity to work at DTSB to help downtown and local businesses reach their fullest potential.
Lauren joined the DTSB team in early 2016 as Operations Coordinator. In January of 2017, Lauren’s role grew as she became DTSB’s Marketing and Development Manager. Her focuses now include securing funds for events through partnerships and grants, working closely with the media and local businesses to promote the development and vitality taking place downtown and ensuring the work that DTSB does is successfully promoted to the public.
Kylie has served as the Events Coordinator for DTSB since May of 2015, after interning for DTSB in 2014 and serving as the Program Coordinator for SB150 – South Bend’s yearlong celebration of its 150th birthday. In her current role, she plans, promotes, and executes over a hundred signature events annually, and provides event support for countless other organizations looking to hold their events downtown.
Kylie obtained her BA in Art and English from the University of Notre Dame and her Master’s Degree in Journalism from Napier University in Scotland. Kylie enjoys living and working in downtown South Bend, and promoting all that South Bend has to offer.
Ambassador General Manager
An experienced public accountant, Debbie joins Downtown South Bend with five years of accounting experience with not-for-profit organizations. A native of northern New York, Debbie graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and has successfully passed the Certified Public Accounting exam. She looks forward to being involved in the daily operations of Downtown South Bend and is happy to be a member of such a positive, community-driven organization.
