"Come early, leave late, or come late, leave early" at Artpost Gallery's Poetry Marathon starting Friday, April 9th

January 26, 2010 — South Bend – Artpost Gallery, 216 W. Madison St., South Bend, will be celebrating National Poetry Month by holding a Poetry Marathon starting Friday, April 9th at 5:00 pm and continuing Saturday until 5 pm.

A variety of poets from the Michiana area will be reading in 15 minute slots for 24 hours at Artpost’s first ever poetry marathon. The event will include performances of new work, collaborations and experiments. Artpost will be giving away poetry journals throughout the event and breakfast will also be served.

This event is open to the public, and there is a $5 suggested donation at the door. Artpost will also have two exhibits on display: “David Ebbinghouse, Small Sculptures”, and “Javaughn Renee, War Chest: Tools of War and Peace.”

Artpost hours are Thursday-Saturday noon – 8 pm, and Sunday noon – 4 pm.
