Heritage Road Show

June 8, 2012 — The Heritage Road Show is being presented by the Center for History, Heritage Square and WNIT Public Television from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, June 23, at Heritage Square in Granger and from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, August 18, at the Center for History in downtown South Bend.

At these events, the community is invited to bring their collectibles and antique items, including costume jewelry, artwork, textiles, antique rugs, books, papers, pottery and porcelains for a verbal estimate of market worth. Items must be able to be carried in. No firearms, weapons or items containing flammable liquids are allowed. Estimates will not be provided for coins, stamps or sports cards. The cost per items is $5—cash only (no checks or credit cards can be accepted). Net proceeds benefit the Center for History and WNIT.

On site will be qualified appraisers and antique experts from the South Bend/Michiana area and Chicago, including Jennifer Tobits, Joel Oppenheimer, Inc.; Paulette Katz, Methods, Inc.; Larry Fletcher, Methods, Inc.; Mike Nickol, Nickol Fine Arts; Al Casperson, A. Casperson Books; Phil Shrock; and Dave Cuyler. Conservators from Joel Oppenheimer, Inc. laboratory will conduct restoration and conservation evaluations of fine art, paintings, photographs, works on paper, and family heirlooms at no charge.
