Vyagra Falls to Perform September 10 at Downtown South Bend Football Fridays Block Party
August 27, 2010 — SOUTH BEND, IN –Start your football weekend downtown with the popular “Docs of Rock”, Vyagra Falls on Friday, September 10 at the Football Fridays Block Party. Held in the heart of downtown South Bend, gates open at 5:00 p.m. with the band taking the stage at 6:00 p.m. The 2010 Football Fridays Block Party series is hosted by Downtown South Bend, Inc. (DTSB) and is located on the College Football Hall of Fame campus, corner of Jefferson and St. Joseph Streets. Football Fridays Block Party event dates are; September 10 and 24. Football Fridays are celebrated rain-or-shine and for the first time will feature a Smoker/Gaming tent hosted by the Knights of Columbus benefiting local charities. In addition to the games of chance for adults there will be a Wii gaming tent, corn hole and other games for the entire family. Tailgate food and beverages are available from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. and the live music starts at 6:00 p.m. It’s fun for all ages!
2010 marks the third time the band has performed at a Football Fridays Block Party event. Vyagra Falls is a popular seven member local band, made up of mostly doctors, who came together over six years ago to raise money for local children’s charities. They play a mix of rock and roll songs from the 50’s up to today. They love to get the audience involved, and always guarantee a good time. So, bring your dancing shoes and join the party!
The 2010 Football Fridays Block Party performance schedule is highlighted with a mix of popular local and regional cover bands; Vyagra Falls on September 10, with Gretchen’s Revenge wrapping up the downtown Block Party Series on September 24.
Admission into the Block Party is $3.00 and free for children 12 years of age and younger. On site festive tailgate food and beverage catering will be provided by Upper Deck. Returning for a third season is the popular Corporate Gridiron Flag Football League. Catch flag football league games on the Gridiron during each Block Party.
